Hello! I’m Nathan Foster, and I started this site with a selfish goal: to find my perfect weather. Growing up in the gloomy skies of Oregon, I’ve always been on the lookout for those rare days when the weather feels just right—the kind that make you want to step outside and soak it all in. For me, that’s bright blue skies, temperatures in the low 70s, and a gentle breeze.
To help in my quest, I created a map to track this kind of “perfect weather,” and I figured, why not share it with others who might be just as obsessed? Now, you might be thinking, “Hey, that’s not my idea of perfect weather—I love a crisp, snowy day!” Well, to each their own! This is my little corner of the internet, so if you don’t agree, I say: make your own map.
I worked for 15 years with the National Weather Service, doing everything from launching weather balloons to writing forecasts and issuing warnings. I also have a degree in Geography and currently work in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), where I get to make maps for a living. On top of all that, I’m a travel lover who enjoys writing about amazing places to visit.
Blue Sky Forecast is the natural blend of all my passions—weather, maps, and travel. Whether you're here for the weather insights, the travel tips, or just some fun maps, welcome to the journey!
